We spent the morning going over cruising knowledge that we needed for the ASA standard and learning some knots. Bob was doing some very strange things with rope and sometimes it looked like prestidigitation. Meanwhile the Sunsail people replaced the two electric pumps and the furler cleat. Then we sailed to Islêt Gosier, a tiny isle off the town. We went ashore to have a look around and I bought some ice cream for our fearless Captain Bob, who has a fondness for the stuff. We served it as a surprise after dinner, which was “gumbo”, meaning take every vegetable on board and throw it into some stock along with leftover rice and some beans.
